Fall Tour: Connecting with members

This past fall, RNAO’s president and CEO connected with members from 12 communities to speak with RNs, NPs and nursing students from chapters, regions and interest groups across the province. Due to the pandemic, the visits took place via Zoom.

President Morgan Hoffarth spoke with members from Durham Region, Kawartha Lakes, Bay of Quinte, Windsor, Chatham, Peel and Waterloo. CEO Doris Grinspun checked in with members from Wellington, Algoma, Sudbury, Nipissing, Hamilton and Kingston. The virtual meetings offered members an opportunity to share their thoughts on some of the nursing, health and health-care issues they believe should be front-and-centre during this unprecedented time.

For her first virtual visit with the Durham Region, Kawartha Lakes and Bay of Quinte, Hoffarth connected with members about COVID-19, particularly in relation to the situation in long-term care (LTC) homes, where thousands of vulnerable residents have lost their lives and nine health-care workers, including one RN, have died.
