interest groups at RNAO
Striving to enrich diversity and inclusivity one interest group at a time.
In the interest of mobilizing

RNAO has welcomed two new interest groups that are helping to create culturally safe environments in health care, the nursing profession and beyond.

The Indigenous Nurses and Allies Interest Group (INAIG) aims to increase Indigenous representation and education in nursing and health-care settings to create more inclusive and accessible spaces for Indigenous populations and to also support reconciliation. The Black Nurses Leading Change (BNLC) interest group is advocating for anti-racism, offering mentorship and continuing education, and providing a safe space for Black nurses, nursing students and their allies to network and interact.

Interest groups are a unique benefit of membership within our professional association. With this in mind, we take a closer look at the stories behind these two groups that are exclusively open to the 48,500 RNs, NPs and nursing student members who make up the association.
