What nursing means to me
As a nurse in the digital age, I’ve seen a trend gaining popularity online. Scroll through social media long enough and you’ll see nurses posting rants or even memes about their patients. Even when these posts are meant to be harmless, funny, or even relatable, we can’t forget they are considered professional conduct, which extends beyond the workplace. Public posts can become the subject of a College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) investigation and may appear as a breach of professional standards and expectations. Nurses work long hours, sometimes without basic breaks for food, water or even the bathroom.
