As nurses, we wield so much power. The power to heal, lift up, strengthen and inspire. I first witnessed this as a young boy. I developed tonsillitis and needed surgery when I was five years old. I remember the thought of visiting the hospital for an operation filled me with dread. I had never been separated from my parents, and it was terrifying.   I remember bursting into tears before the procedure. My nurse held me, consoled me, and told me everything was going to be okay.
