I’ve come to realize that nursing can humble you – real fast. I went from being a confident and competent emergency department RN to an insecure nurse trainee in an operating room. Very early in this transition, I had to make a decision: continue to pursue my goal of pushing myself out of my comfort zone or return to the nursing practice I already knew. This brief period of internal conflict filled me with a lot of self-doubt, but ultimately turned out to be a period of self-discovery.
