CBC's Dale Manucdoc interviews Dr. Doris Grinspun about ECCO 4.0
ECCO 4.0 recommendations to transform health system

On May 12, RNAO released its ECCO 4.0: Enhancing Community Care for Ontarians report, the blueprint for an equitable health system anchored in primary care and integrated community care. It calls for a faster shift from hospital-centric services to prevention-focused, people-centred care to better meet the needs of Ontarians. RNAO CEO Dr. Doris Grinspun (right) spoke to several reporters (including the CBC’s Dale Manucdoc, pictured centre) following the report’s release at a Queen’s Park media conference. In an interview with Ottawa’s 580 CFRA radio (May 12), Grinspun said: “We need to put more investments in primary care, more investments in home care and more investments overall in community care. You will be able to keep people healthier, longer in the community, including the aging population. When you access primary care, that’s where you have the prevention of disease and chronic illness complications. That saves suffering for people and a lot of money for the health system.” Read more about ECCO 4.0 in Policy at Work and download the report.
