It was like any other night on Jan. 23, 2020. RN Clarice Shen was holding bathing supplies for her patient when her shift manager came to the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre ICU unit and pulled her aside to talk. The hospital had received a phone call from EMS that they were on their way with someone who was suspected of having COVID-19 (then called novel coronavirus).
