Dr. Claudette Holloway became RNAO president at the association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) on June 10, 2022. She is the 57th member to do so, and the fourth Black nurse to take the helm. She begins her presidency as the province – and the world – starts to emerge from the unprecedented pressures and challenges of a pandemic that has been with us for well over two years. Like her predecessor Morgan Hoffarth, she takes on the role in an environment that will continue to rely heavily – at least for the foreseeable future – on technology to bring together members, the board of directors and stakeholders to conduct the business of speaking out for nursing and speaking out for health.
In this Q&A, we take a closer look at Holloway’s vision for the next two years, and some of the experiences she will draw on to lead the profession from strength to even greater strength.
RNAO's Immediate Past-President Morgan Hoffarth passed the gavel to Claudette Holloway to close out the 2022 AGM on June 10.
